Special Issue: Integrating Sustainability into Management Control Systems (Sustainability)

The journal Sustainability (MDPI) has launched a Special Issue on “Integrating Sustainability into Management Control Systems: Challenges, Missing Concepts, and Emerging Research Areas.” The Special Issue focuses on how organizations design and implement Sustainability Management Control Systems (SMCSs) and integrate them with traditional management control tools to support ESG strategies and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Guest Editors (Prof. Dr. Ivo Hristov, Prof. Dr. Yongjian Bao, Dr. Riccardo Camilli) invite original research articles and reviews on topics such as:

ESG metrics and sustainability reporting
Sustainable performance management systems
The impact of ESRS on corporate performance
Sustainable decision making and behavioral strategies
Sustainable value chains and green economy

The submission deadline is 12 July 2026.
