Mobility Programs and Financial Support

Internationalization is one of the cornerstones of the PhD in Management. This goal is pursued through an articulated strategy that combines structured partnerships, dedicated mobility programs, and strong financial support for experiences abroad.

1. Structured Partnerships (Double Degrees and Co-tutelles)

The PhD Program has implemented a network of international agreements to offer advanced research pathways and the achievement of joint or double degrees:

  • Double Degree Agreements: A Double Degree agreement with Hasselt University (Belgium) is currently active, providing for a joint Management path with a minimum stay of six months at each institution and the issuance of a double degree from both Universities. A similar agreement is also under development with Brunel University of London (UK).
  • Co-tutelle Conventions: Specific co-tutelle conventions are in force with high-profile international entities, including the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano and the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV – EBAPE) in Brazil. These agreements involve collaborative theses, alternating research periods, binational committees, and the issuance of a double academic recognition.
  • SAPIENS Project: The program participates in the SAPIENS project, in collaboration with European universities and companies, which facilitates secondments for PhD students at partner centres.

2. Mobility Programs and Financial Support

To ensure integration into the global scientific community, the PhD Program actively encourages mobility, supported by specific opportunities and resources:

  • Erasmus+: Scholarships are available under the Erasmus+ program for PhD Students and Faculty, allowing research stays at EU universities lasting between 3 and 12 months.
  • Visiting PhD Student: Through bilateral initiatives promoted by the Academic Board, PhD students can participate in visiting programs at prominent partner universities (such as KU Leuven, Konstanz, and Valencia).
  • Doctor Europaeus: The achievement of the additional Doctor Europaeus title is provided for PhD students who meet the requirements, including a minimum stay of three months abroad and the presence of external evaluators on the thesis committee.
  • Financial Support: The commitment to mobility is reinforced by dedicated funds: a stay abroad exceeding 30 days (up to six continuous months) entails a 50% increase in the scholarship amount.

These opportunities have led approximately one-third of the enrolled students to spend at least three months abroad, fully consistent with the internationalization objectives defined in the Three-Year Programme Document.
