Seminars

Seminar program (February – April 2026)

The seminar programme of the PhD Course in Evolution, Ecology and Environmental Health offers a highly interdisciplinary approach, integrating theoretical, experimental and applied approaches to address major contemporary environmental and health challenges.
The seminars range from marine ecology and ocean biogeochemical cycles to the resilience of coastal and lagoon ecosystems, and the study of extremophile organisms and their adaptive potential. Ample space is devoted to the “omics” sciences (genomics, proteomics), evolutionary epidemiology and the One Health perspective, with a particular focus on the dynamics of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance.
The programme also includes methodological and conceptual contributions on spatial analysis, decision models and game theory, providing students with advanced quantitative tools for interpreting complex systems. Overall, the seminar cycle reflects the cross-disciplinary nature of the PhD programme, promoting dialogue between disciplines and fostering an integrated view of biological evolution, ecosystem functioning and human health.

Links to individual events are available in the PDF posters (see the IN-DEPTH section on the right-hand side of this page).
