-present his/her own results to the board and the other students in 4 occasions;

The presentation of the 1st and 2nd year results is requested. The student is requested to send an abstract in advance and to prepare Powerpoint or pdf slides. Templates are provided.
Abstracts and presentations will be evaluated by the PhD board members. Each evaluation will take into consideration 5 aspects, i.e.
Scientific content, Approach appropriateness, Quality of discussion, Quality of presentation, Responses to questions. The optimal score for each item is 5. The obtained scores are returned and will help in pinpointing the flaws and the aspects that need improvements in the final thesis. Admission of the thesis to review is obtained with scores above 3. The thesis must be coherent with the research project submitted by the student to the board, and evaluated at the time of the first and second presentations. The thesis is examined by two espert reviewers. A standard template is provided. It is expected that the student be author of at least one publication, possibly on an international journal, or of a manuscript submitted or in an advanced stage of preparation.
