Report of research activity in the previous year (for PhD students of the first year):

The details of the results of the research activities are given by the students' publications (see notes). The research activity flows directly into the student's participatory activities, which have didactic value for himself and for his fellow doctoral students.
The didactic activity consisted in the compulsory participation in the following events:
2 courses held by professors of the Board, aimed at training students on innovative methods and technologies to be applied in the fields of the Doctorate, and a further course on communication skills and access to research resources held by a professor from outside the Board;
5 thematic seminars held by experts from the college.
The 12 students of the 39^ cycle presented their program in Dec. 2023, always reporting sufficient ratings for the categories: Scientific content, Approach appropriateness, Quality of discussion, Quality of presentation, Responses to questions;
The 10 students of the 38^ cycle presented the results achieved at the end of the year in Oct. 2023 reporting always sufficient ratings for the above categories.
A total of 25 sessions of educational activities were held with an individual attendance of more than 50%.
The admission of all students to the following year was approved by the Board on 30.10.2023 (see minutes).

Of the 15 students of the 37^ cycle, 14 presented the results achieved at the end of the year between Sep. and Oct. 2023. All of them reported sufficient ratings for the categories: Scientific content, Approach appropriateness, Quality of discussion, Quality of presentation, Responses to questions.
The admission of all these students to the following year was approved by the Board on 30.10.2023 (see minutes).
A last student, a foreigner who started his PhD on 1.2.2022, will present his results in spring 2024.

Of the students of the 36^ cycle, 4 had not availed themselves of the extension of the course term due to the COVID emergency and presented the results achieved at the end of the three-year period in the Oct. 2023, reporting sufficient ratings for the categories: Scientific content, Approach appropriateness, Quality of discussion, Quality of presentation, Responses to questions.
The admission of all these students to submit their thesis for evaluation pursuant to Ministerial Decree 226 was approved by the Board on 30.10.2023 (see minutes). Theses are being evaluated by external reviewers.
5 students who have taken advantage of the extension of the course term due to the COVID emergency will present their results at the end of the three-year period in Jan. 2024.
