Educational goals and objectives

NURSING SCIENCES AND PUBLIC HEALTH

The PhD program aims to train researchers capable of contributing to the development of interdisciplinary research in the field of public health, using qualitative–quantitative and experimental methodologies. In particular, the objectives of the PhD program are to enable doctoral students to acquire: The principles of research methodology and epidemiology, global health, health economics, and health organization and management; Solid foundations in qualitative and quantitative research, necessary for the development of integrated disciplinary knowledge; - The ability to design and conduct observational and/or experimental studies in the field of public health; - The ability to conduct research studies independently; - The ability to integrate into multidisciplinary research groups and to facilitate the integration of scientific knowledge with other disciplines; - The ability to identify and secure funding sources for their own research projects; - The ability to apply research findings to clinical practice and healthcare organizations; - The ability to evaluate the outcomes of public health interventions and to effectively present collected data and continuous quality improvement projects.
