Presentation

The Doctoral Program in Business Engineering offers a three-year training path to develop cross-cutting skills for excellence in research, both in the public and the private sectors, as well as for proficiency in management professions. Following the guidelines of the Doctoral School of the Italian Association of Management Engineering (AiIG), the program is structured around four fundamental pillars.
The first pillar, TRAINING, requires the attendance of courses, seminars, and Summer Schools, as well as periods of study abroad at academic institutions and research centers affiliated with the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
The second pillar, RESEARCH, concerns the development of an original research project characterized by methodological rigor whose results are to be published in prestigious national and international journals, selected from those indicated by AiIG.
The third pillar, IMPACT, includes a training program ensuring that research will advance knowledge in the field of management engineering and impact on the wider public of potential stakeholders.
The fourth pillar, TEACHING, focuses on supporting the students in developing the skills needed for high-quality teaching activities.
The Doctoral Program in Business Engineering belongs to the Scientific Disciplinary Group ECONOMIC-MANAGEMENT ENGINEERING. Economic-Management Engineering develops and transfers knowledge relevant for the design and management of complex organizational systems. This study field integrates engineering with economics and organization management analyzing the impact of transformation, change, and innovation for organizations and economic systems. Its main areas include economics and management of technology, entrepreneurship, internationalization, digitization, industrial ecology, and sustainable innovation.
Research in this sector is based on rigorous methodologies characterized by a multidisciplinary perspective. The goal is to understand and solve complex problems through the integration of theoretical models and qualitative-quantitative empirical applications.
