Maria Luisa Di Vona is since 2018 Associate Professor in Chemical Foundations of Technologies, sector 03/B2 (CHIM/07) at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". Since 2015 she is the director of the International Laboratory "Ionomer Materials for Energy" (LIME, https://lablime.uniroma2.it/).
MLDV is coordinator of the International Master's Degree Course "Chemical Nano-Engineering " (LM-71) funded by the EU in 2016 and in 2020 as Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (https://master-cne.eu/).
MLDV is responsible for several research projects (HORIZON 2020, EU FP7, MUR-PRIN 2022) and educational projects (EU PostDoc Program, PhD and PostDoc co-tutela Program).
She was “Visiting Professor” at the Institute for Materials Science (NIMS, Japan) in 2010 and at the University of Aix-Marseille (France) in 2017 and 2020.
MLDV is the main organizer of several international symposiums (EMRS, MRS, AMRS, Euromat, Thermec) and member of organizational and scientific committees of several companies. She is a member of editorial boards of international journals, including the European Journal of Materials, Molecules and Frontiers in Energy Research.
She has participated in the drafting of educational books (The basics of Chemistry and Stoichiometry-General Chemistry through exercises), in the translation of textbooks (Fundamentals of Chemistry) and scientific books (Solid state proton conductors. Properties and application in Fuel Cells) .
She has academic and teaching responsibilities by participating in various commissions (AQ Research, Pedagogical committee), selection and evaluation committees, Italian and foreign thesis committees. She is responsible for international agreements in both teaching and research. She collaborates with various companies with which you have entered into agreements (Nuvant, Prolabin).
She has supervised many doctoral theses, directed research fellows and fellows and of foreign PostDocs and PhDs funded with dedicated projects (Capes / PrInt, JSPS).
She has published 198 articles, 150 in international journals, 7 book chapters, 2 books, 4 patents, 35 publications in conference proceedings. She has more than 200 communications at international and national conferences including numerous keynotes or invited talks.
During her teaching activity she delivered numerous courses including Nanoscale synthesis methods, Chemistry for energy, Chemistry, Frontier materials for industrial applications, Environmental measurements. You have held cycles of lectures and seminars as Erasmus Professor and Visiting Professor.
She recently received the award "outstanding research in the area of hybrid and nano-materials for energy and leadership in chemical nano-engineering education in Europe" (Distinguished Award. International conference on processing & manufacturing of advanced materials, 2021).
Her main research fields are: development of solid state ion conductors for energy (fuel cells, electrolysers, redox flow batteries, Li-ion and Zn-air batteries); synthesis of ionomers and hybrid organic-inorganic materials; nanoscale synthesis of carbon materials; ion exchange membranes for water treatment.
