The Ph.D. program in Economics and Finance is a 4-year full-time program aiming at providing an advanced specialization in Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Methods to highly qualified and motivated students, whose goal is a successful career in academia or in institutions that require advanced financial, economic and quantitative skills. During the first-year students acquire a broad set of theoretical and methodological skills required in both economics and finance (mathematics and statistics, econometrics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance). After choosing their field of specialization, students dedicate the second, third and fourth year to research, and are expected to attend seminars held by internationally renowned internal and external faculty, as well as to present the progress of their research. The program offers: - a distinguished faculty: courses are taught by distinguished Italian and foreign professors of proven teaching and research experience; - a lively intellectual atmosphere: the program emphasizes breadth and a critical mindset; cooperation and joint research with fellow students and faculty members are strongly encouraged; - an international environment: the program enrolls highly qualified students from all over the world; - worldwide connections: students are encouraged to spend periods of research in leading universities. The program lasts 4 years, and it consists of two phases: a coursework phase and a dissertation phase. PhD candidates are granted the doctoral degree after successfully completing all their coursework and defending a dissertation that represents an original and significant contribution to the chosen field of specialization.
