Carlos Sanchez Martin is a Tenure Track Researcher (RTT) at the Department of Experimental Medicine, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He received his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Physiopathology and Pharmacological Implications from the University of Salamanca (Spain). From 2012 to 2013 he worked as a PostDoc at the Italian National Research Council (CSIC, Madrid, Spain). In 2013 he became a postdoctoral fellow of the Ramon Areces Foundation, carrying out his research activity at the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit, Cambridge, UK. From 2015 to 2022 he worked as a research fellow at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Padua. In 2022 he was hired as a Fixed-Term Researcher of type A (RTDa) at the Department of Biosciences, Biotechnology and Environment of the University of Bari.


 


His main research interests concern the study of genetic and metabolic alterations in tumor cells. In particular, he aims to study the role of genes belonging to the p53 family in tumor proliferation, using in vitro and in vivo models, integrated with transcriptomics and metabolomics approaches.
