The program of study is designed to prepare students for productive careers in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; its emphasis is training in research, and each student works closely with members of the staff.
The training is performed in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department, in the of Biology Department, in the Department of Chemical Sciences and Technologies, as well as in foreign international research Institutions such as the Medical Research Council in UK. The topics of biochemistry and molecular biology concern the study of biochemical processes and molecular mechanisms fundamental for the development and survival of simple and complex living organisms. The BMB graduate research training is interdisciplinary, mainly focused in one or more of the following areas: Molecular Dynamics, Computational Biology, Drug Design, Structural Biology, Biochemistry and Enzymology, Cell Death Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Oncogenes and Tumour suppressors, Cancer metabolism, Skin Differentiation and Skin Diseases, Biotechnology, Regulation of Transcription, Cell Cycle Regulation, regulatory non-coding RNA.
