Annual report

The details of the results of the research carried out by doctoral students are proven by their publications and communications at conferences and congresses (see INSIGHT).

First-year students must attend the courses offered and participate in all seminar activities both related to the research advances of students in subsequent years and to scientific seminars held by Italian and foreign researchers (see list in the notes). During these meetings, students must actively participate in the sessions dedicated to discussion.
First-year students must present the outline of the research project they intend to carry out to third-year students who critically evaluate the papers. Subsequently, the students in groups of two per meeting present the research project to the Teaching Board and to the doctoral students of all cycles.
The 17 first-year students presented their projects to the Teaching Board from June 2024 to July 2024, always receiving more than sufficient evaluations for the categories: Scientific content, Appropriateness of the approach, Quality of the discussion, Quality of the presentation, Answers to questions.

Second-year students must attend the courses offered and participate in all seminar activities both related to the research advances of students in subsequent years and to scientific seminars held by Italian and foreign researchers (see list in the notes). During these meetings, students must actively participate in the sessions dedicated to discussion.
Second-year students must present their research project in groups of two per meeting to the Teaching Board and to the doctoral students of all cycles.
The 12 second-year students presented their projects to the Teaching Board from April 2024 to June 2024, always reporting more than sufficient evaluations for the categories: Scientific content, Approach appropriateness, Quality of discussion, Quality of presentation, Responses to Questions.

Third-year students must attend the courses offered and participate in all seminar activities both related to the advancement of research by students in subsequent years and to scientific seminars held by Italian and foreign researchers (see list in the notes). During these meetings, students must actively participate in the sessions dedicated to discussion.
Third-year students must present their research project to the Teaching Board and to PhD students of all cycles in groups of two per meeting.
The 14 third-year students presented their projects to the Teaching Board from December 2023 to March 2024, always receiving more than sufficient evaluations for the categories: Scientific content, Approach appropriateness, Quality of discussion, Quality of presentation, Responses to Questions.

Overall, during the academic year 2023/24, more than 23 sessions of Teaching Activity related to PhD students' research and other sessions for scientific seminars were held, in which all PhD students of the three active PhD cycles participated.

The period of the academic year from September to December is aimed at didactic meetings with outgoing third-year students who discuss the overall research project of the three years with the final results obtained and the publications produced. Of the 14 outgoing students, 4 took the final exam on 02/03/2025, another 10 took the final exam on 04/29/2025
