To mark National Fertility Information and Education Day, the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Tor Vergata University Hospital are organizing—for the second consecutive year—a scientific symposium dedicated to birth rates, reproductive health, and the new frontiers of reproductive medicine. This initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness regarding the importance of fertility as a fundamental component of both individual and collective health.
Against a backdrop of profound demographic shifts and a steady decline in birth rates, the event aims to foster multidisciplinary dialogue among institutions, healthcare professionals, researchers, and students concerning the challenges currently facing reproductive health. With contributions from leading experts across academia, clinical practice, and public institutions, the program will address key social, economic, and regulatory aspects of the declining birth rate, alongside the latest innovations in fertility prevention and preservation. Special emphasis will be placed on opportunities arising from advances in scientific research and emerging technologies—ranging from artificial intelligence to state-of-the-art fertility preservation strategies—to promote a culture of prevention and reproductive health protection throughout the lifespan. The event thus seeks to contribute to a shared reflection on the future of fertility and potential responses to the demographic and health challenges of our time.
