Research Experiences. The research activity of Prof. Micheli is focalized on the study and development of disposable electrochemical tools, bio/immunosensors and interference-free biosensors based on screen printed electrodes (SPEs) for the determination of microorganisms, toxins and contaminants in food, several analyte in human fluids with clinical relevance, and pollutants and degradation compounds in paper artworks for Cultural Heritage, using spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods for their validation. In 2019 Prof Micheli had collaborated with Prof. Sunita Khumbat within the TECO Project at the laboratories of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Jodhpur (India) about the development of disposable label free immunosensor for aflatoxin M1 in milk. She is collaborating, from 2006 until now, with the Department of CEMIS-OULU (Prof. V. Virtanen) of the University of Oulu for development novel techniques for biosensor platform and new tools for applications in the clinical-sports field within BioProf, BIMI I and II, Nutrisense and SEWEB projects. She managed People-Exchange-Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme IRSES-PEOPLE-2008 in collaboration with the University of Melbourne (Australia) and University of Bath (UK). She is collaborating with private companies (SANA srl - 2020-2022, 2G Technologies Srl – 2020-2021). From 2006 Prof Micheli is collaborating with Dr Katya Carbone (CREA-Research Centre for Olive, Citrus and Tree Fruit) to enhance vegetable waste producing carbonaceous materials or nanoparticle used for electrochemical application. The research work of Prof Micheli had been presented at several national and international congress and scientific meetings as oral presentations or posters. She has been invited as a speaker in the Biosensors for Health Oceans in Manchester (UK) (2016) at EUROSCIENCE International Congress; in the 69th Annual Meeting of the ISE and EuroChemistry Conference 2018; in the “NN19 - Nanoscience and Nanotechnology” Conference at INFN (Italy) (2019).
She is referee of international journals as Biosensors and Bioelectronics, the Analyst, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Electrochimica Acta, Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, etc. Prof Micheli is managing three project and has been involved in several international and national project:
