Luigi Raffaele Pellegrino is a PhD candidate in the “Banking and Finance” track of the PhD in Management (XXXVIII cycle) at the Department of Management and Law, University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy). Dr. Pellegrino’s research interests are in Hedge Fund Activism, stock market, asymmetric information in financial markets, corporate finance. After receiving his high school diploma in technical studies (Economic Sector - Administration, Finance and Marketing), he joined in the Economics Department of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Italy) in October 2017. In July 2022 he obtained a Master’s Degree in "Finance and Financial Markets" with full marks (110/110 cum laude), discussing a thesis entitled "Minibond and Basket bond: the solution for the economic recovery of SMEs". Dr. Pellegrino's current research focuses on the phenomenon of shareholder activism. He is interested in studying the role of Hedge Funds and the underlying mechanisms of value creation.
