Curricula studiorum

- Studies and Training

He studied at the University of Rome La Sapienza, where he graduated with a thesis on the image of Rome in the literature of Ingeborg Bachmann and Marie Luise Kaschnitz (supervisor Flavia Arzeni). He then completed his PhD in Germanistics at the University of Florence in partnership with the University of Bonn (2012) (tutors Rita Svandrlik and Eva Geulen). During his university and doctoral studies, he was a lecturer in Italian first as Fremdsprachenassistent (2006-07) and then for the Sprachlernzentrum of the University of Bonn (2011-12). After working on the editorial staff of the Italian Institute of Germanic Studies, he was a research fellow at the University of Tuscia (2015-2017). From 2018 to 2022, he taught in primary and secondary schools. In 2020, he was awarded the National Scientific Appointment as associate professor (by unanimous vote of the selection board - 2018 round) in the competition area 10/M1 Germanic Languages, Literatures and Cultures. In 2023, she was awarded a DAAD research fellowship at the Deutsches Literaturarchiv in Marbach for research on the legacy of Marie Luise Kaschnitz. 

 

- Academic assignments

From 2013 to 2022 he was Adjunct Lecturer in German Language and Translation at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo (2013-19), the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (2017-19) and the LUMSA University of Rome (2019-22). Since 2022, he has been a temporary type B Researcher in the Macroarea of Humanities at the University of Rome 2 Tor Vergata. 

- Editorial and research responsibilities 

Director of the series ‘Fuoriforma’ for Del Vecchio Editore.

Member of the scientific committee of the series ‘Gli specchi di Antigone’ for Le Lettere (ed. Paola Del Zoppo).

Member of the scientific committee of the series ‘Alia. Letterature e complessità' for Bulzoni (ed. Monica Storini).

Member of the editorial board of ‘Studi Germanici’ (under the editorship of Giorgio Manacorda, 2012-15).

He has numerous conferences in Italy and Germany to his credit, as well as participation in and organisation of national and international conferences, including the one at the University of Tuscia entitled ‘Ragionare sul mito tra studi di genere, politica e diritto’ (with Paola del Zoppo, September 2016), the one at the Sapienza University of Rome ‘Männlichkeit/en. Male pluralities and German culture between clash and conciliation’ (with Giulia Iannucci, October 2021) and the one at the University of Rome Tor Vergata entitled ’Literaturlinguistische Annäherungen. Textsorten der öffentlichen Kommunikation’ (with Nadia Centorbi, June 2023). 

 

- Areas of research

His scientific interests are transversal: he deals with women's literature, gender studies applied to literature, the reception of myth in contemporary German literature, and German-Jewish culture. More recently, he has dealt with translation studies, theatrical translation and literary linguistics (Literaturlinguistik).
