FABRIZIO DI MARZIO
He graduated with honours in law from the University of Bologna in 1989.
He was an ordinary magistrate from 1996 to 2019.
He served as a civil judge at the courts of Crotone (until 2004) and Rome (until 2011).
In 2011, he was the winner of the first competition for Corte di Cassazione counsellor reserved for magistrates who have passed the second or third professionalism evaluation, pursuant to Article 12(14) of Legislative Decree No 160/2006. From that year onwards, he served as a Corte di Cassazione councillor, first in the 2nd criminal section, then in the 3rd civil section.
In 2016, he was placed out of the organic role to take on the duties of member of the Commission for the Guarantee of Statutes and for the transparency and control of the accounts of political parties, on the designation of the first president of the Corte di Cassazione.
Since 2000, he has taught private law subjects in various universities.
Also since 2000, he has been a speaker at training and refresher courses organised by the CSM's scientific committee.
In the years 2007-2010, he was a member of the CSM's scientific committee, of which he coordinated the civil sector in 2010.
From 2013 to 2016 he was a member of the SSM teaching structure at the Corte di Cassazione for the civil sector.
He was a member of technical committees and working groups at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and at the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economic Development on the subject of commercial legislation, as well as at the Ministry of Health on the subject of health legislation.
He was a member of the scientific committee of the Fondazione italiana del Notariato.
He was a member of the civil law commission at the l’Organismo italiano di contabilità.
In 2013, he qualified as a first-rank professor in private law.
Also in 2013, he qualified as a first-rank professor in commercial law.
In 2019, he took part in and won the competition for a post of first-rank professor in private law announced by the University of Chieti-Pescara.
He is currently a full professor of private law at the University of Chieti-Pescara.
In addition to being lawyer, he is head of the legal-business area of the Confederazione Nazionale Coldiretti.
He holds the following scientific appointments.
He is a member of the scientific committee of the Enciclopedia del Diritto.
He is a member of the steering committee of the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura.
He is part of the scientific committee of the dell’Osservatorio sulla criminalità nell’agricoltura e sul sistema agroalimentare.
Since 2019, he has been editor of the journal Diritto e giurisprudenza agraria, alimentare e dell'ambiente (scientific).
Since 2016, he has been co-editor of the journal Diritto Agroalimentare (in Band A).
Since 2014, he has been co-editor of the journals Civil Justice (in Band A) and GiustiziaCivile.com. (scientific).
