Research:
Current research activity concerns:
1. Molecular Beam Epitaxial growth, electronic and structural characterization of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) alloys and heterostructures and chalcogenides-based 2D systems. The activity on PCM is aimed at the research and study of materials for applications in non-volatile electrical memories. Currently, attention is particularly focused on the pseudo-binary alloy GeTe-Sb2Te3.
2. Epitaxial growth of chalcogenide heterostructures for green neuromorphic applications. The research activity involves the fabrication of new neuromorphic devices, both on rigid and flexible substrates, characterized by a drastic reduction in energy consumption and designed to improve data management by higher speed and higher data density.
The past research activity of F. Arciprete has covered several topics, among which: MBE growth and electronic and structural characterization of III-V semiconductor alloys and self-assembled InAs/GaAs(001) quantum dots.
Scientific production
F. Arciprete is author and co-author of more than 100 publications on high impact factor peer-reviewed international journals, several conference proceedings and book chapters.
F. Arciprete has attended at many International Conferences and Workshops with many oral presentations and invited talks [the latter including MRS Fall Meeting, 2022, Boston (USA) as tutorial instructor: “Molecular Beam Epitaxial Growth and Characterization of Phase Change Materials” for the symposium EQ10, and the 2020 Virtual Material Research Society (MRS) Spring/Fall Meeting: “Towards the Investigation of Electronic Properties of Epitaxial Phase Change Materials”].
