Erica Del Grosso è Professoressa Associata presso il Dipartimento di Scienze e Tecnologie Chimiche dell’Università di Roma Tor Vergata. Durante il dottorato di ricerca è stata visiting researcher presso l’Università di Montréal (Canada) e, nel periodo post-dottorale, le è stata assegnata la prestigiosa Marie Curie Individual Global Fellowship. In qualità di ricercatrice MSCA ha trascorso un anno presso l’Università della California, Santa Barbara (USA), nel gruppo del Prof. Kevin W. Plaxco.
L’attività di ricerca di Erica è stata inoltre riconosciuta con numerosi premi: il primo posto del “Reaxys SCI Early Career Researcher Award” per giovani ricercatori under 35 (2018), la Medaglia d’Argento dell’“European Young Chemist Award” (2022) e la selezione come finalista del “Women Interactive Materials Award” (2024).
Come Professoressa Associata, ha concentrato la propria attività di ricerca nel campo della nanotecnologia del DNA e nello sviluppo di nanodispositivi basati su DNA per applicazioni di sensing e diagnostica. Nel 2025 ha ottenuto un finanziamento “FIS2 – Fondo Italiano per la Scienza” dal Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca (MUR) e un finanziamento “My First AIRC” dalla Fondazione AIRC.
