In 1985 he took his high school A-level in the Classic High school "Giulio Cesare" of Rome.
In 1987 he won one of the height scholarship "Enrico Persico" (2,500 IL) of the Accademia dei Lincei.
In 1989, he won one of the four scholarship of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), to be spent in the SLAC high Energy laboratories in the USA for two months. In this contest he follows the international school "Physics at 100 GeV".
In January 1993 he graduated in Physics at the Rome University "La Sapienza", with the vote 110/110 and honors, discussing the thesis " Inclusive semileptonic decays of the B mesons in an heavy quark effective theory".
In the period 2000-2004 he took a INFN fellowship to work in the KLOE experiment.
In 2004 he became staff researcher in the Physics Department of Tor Vergata University.
In the 2007-2012 he was coordinator of scientific line 1 "Fundamental interactions with accelerators" of the INFN Tor Vergata division.
Since 2011 he is coordinator of LHCb experiment in the INFN Tor Vergata division.
In 2014 he became associate professor in Physics. In 2011-2015 he taught the course "General Physics 2" for Chemistry. Since 2015 he teaches the course "Physics 2" for Mathematics. Since 2016 he teaches the course "Physics 3" for Physics.
