Research interests Integration of fMRI, EEG, and MEG data, functional connectivity, methods of multivariate analysis, machine learning and deep learning in MRI and fMRI, modeling of tissue microstructure for diffusion MRI imaging, and clinical applications. Analysis of multimodal MRI (anatomical, perfusion and diffusion) with machine learning and deep learning.
Research activity
My research activity belongs broadly to biomedical macroscopic imaging for clinical applications and basic research in the fields of medicine, neurosciences, and psychology.
In the beginning of my career I worked in magnetoencephalography (MEG), on various aspects of this discipline from instrumentation, to data acquisition and analysis. In this context I also worked on the integration of EEG and MEG data.
I then worked on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), mainly on data acquisition and analysis. I also worked on the methods and the applications of simultaneous EEG and fMRI. The motivation for these researches is the combination of two investigation techniques with different properties of temporal and spatial resolution.
More recently I worked on diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (DMRI) for the study of tissue microstructure. In this case I mainly worked on model for data interpretation.
Finally, I worked on the anlysis of multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (anatomical, perfusion, and diffusion) with machine learning and deep learning.
