Carlos Sanchez Martin è Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato in Tenure Track (RTT) presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Sperimentale dell’Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”. Ha conseguito il Dottorato di Ricerca in Fisiopatologia Cellulare e Molecolare e Implicazioni Farmacologiche presso l’Università di Salamanca (Spagna). Dal 2012 al 2013 ha lavorato come PostDoc presso il Consiglio Superiore delle Ricerche Scientifiche (CSIC, Madrid, Spagna). Nel 2013 è diventato borsista postdoc della Fondazione Ramon Areces, svolgendo la propria attività di ricerca presso la MRC Mitocondrial Biology Unit, Cambridge, Regno Unito. Dal 2015 al 2022 ha lavorato come assegnista di ricerca presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Biomediche dell’Università di Padova. Nel 2022 è stato assunto come Ricercatore a Tempo determinato di tipo A (RTDa) presso il Dipartimento di Bioscienze, Biotecnologie e Ambiente dell’Università di Bari.

 

I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano lo studio delle alterazioni genetiche e metaboliche nelle cellule tumorali. In particolare, si propone di studiare il ruolo dei geni appartenenti alla famiglia p53 nella proliferazione tumorale, utilizzando modelli in vitro e in vivo, integrati con approcci di trascrittomica e metabolomica.
