Angela Ulacco is Assistant Professor (Ricercatrice in Tenure-track) in the Dipartimento di Studi letterari, Filosofici e di Storia dell’Arte. After obtaining her PhD in philosophy from the University of Pisa in 2010, she held postdoctoral positions at the universities of Tübingen, Pisa, and the KU Leuven. From 2013 to 2019, she held a chair of Greek Philosophy at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. From 2020 to 2021, she was an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Feodor-Lynen Experienced Research Fellow at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). From 2021 to 2025, she was a Research Associate at the De Wulf-Mansion Centre for Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy at the KU Leuven as part of the ERC Advanced Project, ‘Not Another History of Platonism’ (grant agreement No. 885273).

Her research focuses on the intersections of philosophical traditions in Antiquity, especially that between Pythagoreanism, Plato and Platonism, and Aristotle. She has worked on topics in the philosophy of nature, metaphysics, and psychology. She has also published on the relationship between epistemic authority, exegesis, and pseudepigraphy in Antiquity, as well as questions of methodology in the history of philosophy.
