Teaching Activities
Since the academic year 2010/11, Andrea Duggento has consistently carried out teaching activities related to the SSD FIS/07 of the Master's Degree Courses and the Bachelor's Degree Courses of the Health Professions of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Initially, as a Subject Expert and appointed teacher, he conducted supplementary teaching activities in the official courses of Applied Physics and Medical Physics. He has always provided guidance and assistance to students and has chaired and/or participated in almost all the examination boards. Later, he was officially assigned full responsibility for the courses, in some cases, also serving as the Coordinator of the corresponding Integrated Courses. He has also been a member of Degree Committees and thesis advisor, as well as a doctoral student supervisor.

Research Activities
Andrea Duggento's research primarily focuses on the applications of advanced physical and mathematical techniques to data analysis in the biological and biomedical fields.
Starting in 2003, during his bachelor's thesis, he began to work with mathematical tools applied to biology, studying the information transmitted in a model of a sensory neuronal beam. From 2005, during his master's thesis, he dealt with models and statistical methods for signal analysis in electroencephalography (EEG).
During his doctoral period (2006-2009), Andrea Duggento delved into Bayesian analysis to propose advanced mathematical models for parameter inference in dynamic systems, naturally applying this to parameter inference in both microbiological (neuronal spiking) and biomedical systems (pneumo-cardiovascular coupling).
Since 2010, in his research activities at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Andrea Duggento has expanded his research interests in the biomedical field (cardiovascular models, biomedical signal analysis, structural and functional neuro-imaging, nuclear imaging, and radiotherapy), maintaining a mathematical approach or one inspired by information analysis using tools of statistical mechanics, or characterized by a Bayesian inferential basis for model definition.

From the beginning of his activities, the most significant research areas are:

Algorithms for the invasive monitoring of patients.
Volumetric models for nuclear imaging and radiotherapy.
Diffusion models in structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Analysis of cardiac variability.
Information analysis in functional MRI.
Artificial intelligence and artificial neural networks.
