Obiettivi formativi del dottorato
Educational goals and objectives

descrizione:Il corso di Dottorato in Economia e Finanza è un programma di quattro anni che mira a formare ricercatrici/ricercatori di elevatissima qualificazione nelle discipline della macroeconomia, microeconomia, econometria e finanza. Il programma è dedicato a studentesse/studenti altamente ambiziosi e fortemente motivati a spostare in avanti la frontiera delle conoscenze del mondo economico e finanziario.

Nel corso del primo anno gli studenti vengono esposti ai modelli e metodi per l'analisi economica, acquisendo il rigore metodologico necessario ad affrontare la complessità dei sistemi economici. Il programma delle attività copre sessanta crediti formativi svolti dai docenti del collegio e da esperti di rilevanza internazionale. Nei tre anni successivi si dedicano alle proprie ricerche.

Il programma è organizzato da un dipartimento di eccellenza, che mette a disposizione risorse di calcolo all'avanguardia, un ricco programma di scambio e visita dei docenti.

PhD:ECONOMICS AND FINANCE
description:The Ph.D. program in Economics and Finance is a 4-year full-time program aiming at providing an advanced specialization in Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Methods to highly qualified and motivated students, whose goal is a successful career in academia or in institutions that require advanced financial, economic and quantitative skills.

During the first-year students acquire a broad set of theoretical and methodological skills required in both economics and finance (mathematics and statistics, econometrics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance).
After choosing their field of specialization, students dedicate the second, third and fourth year to research, and are expected to attend seminars held by internationally renowned internal and external faculty, as well as to present the progress of their research.
The program offers:

L’argomento della ricerca verterà sulle determinanti della crescita economica attraverso l’impiego di un approccio granulare per studiare i profili di specializzazione ai livelli nazionale e locale. L’analisi richiederà l’applicazione di metodi della Teoria dei Network e della Teoria dei Sistemi Complessi per l’individuazione e la misura delle capacità produttive e innovative e per lo studio delle loro implicazioni per la crescita economica. La ricerca riguarderà anche gli aspetti dinamici della transizione verso sistemi economici sostenibili. Il candidato parteciperà ad attività di ricerca ad alto livello in collaborazione con il gruppo di Economic Fitness e Complexity al Centro Ricerche Enrico Fermi (CREF: https://cref.it ). Il candidato avrà la possibilità di lavorare con studiosi di diverse discipline in un ambiente di ricerca attivo e multidisciplinare. Nel corso del programma di dottorato il candidato acquisirà competenze in Teoria dei Network e in Sistemi Complessi, Machine Learning, e metodi quantitativi non standard per l’analisi della Complessità Economica (https://cref.it/en/service/02-social-and-economic-complexity ). Competenze richieste: Titoli: Laurea Magistrale in Economia, Finanza, Fisica, Matematica, Informatica, Statistica, o discipline affini. Abilità analitiche, competenze in matematica e possibilmente in programmazione.
- PHD Scholarship CREF
 M.Sc. Degree in Economics, Finance, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent. Analytical skills, strong quantitative background in mathematics and possibly coding. Documents required: Research Proposal, Degree Transcripts, Curriculum Vitae. Knowledge of English: the oral interview will be conducted in English. RESEARCH TOPICS for the scholarship offered from CREF: The topic of the dissertation will focus on the analysis of economic growth by implementing a granular approach to the study of the profiles of specialisation at national or local economic levels. It will involve the application of methods from network theory and complex system analysis to the study of productive capabilities and innovative capacity and their relation to economic growth. It will also include research into the dynamic aspects of the transition towards more sustainable economic systems. The student will participate in high-quality research activity in collaboration with the Economic Fitness and Complexity group at Centro Ricerche Enrico Fermi (CREF: https://cref.it ). The candidate will have the opportunity to engage with researchers of different fields and backgrounds in a lively multidisciplinary environment. During the programme the candidate will acquire knowledge of network theory and complex systems, master machine-learning techniques, and develop strong non-standard quantitative methods of Economic Complexity (https://cref.it/en/service/02-social-and-economic-complexity ).
